I went out to the sea
to be happy.
But I was lost,
so crushed and overwhelmed
beyond my ability to endure
that I despaired of living.
Then I saw the light
of a rescue swimmer.
His hand was warm and strong.
I was rescued.
On the solid seashore
I woke up.
There I learned
to be content
to be lower
to be more like my rescuer.
And happiness came.
Now I go out to the sea
to rescue others.
I make myself stay in shape
and available anytime
so others too may live.
