Trailblazer

Happy Monday!
It's a day to take a family nature walk. 

In the middle of the trail
the thought suddenly flashed into my mind - 
"Who did blaze this trail for us?" 

Someone had to clear the road, 
Someone had to put up signs,
Someone had to mow the lawn,
For us. 

Because of someone,
Today we enjoy a walk on the trail. 

In life, there are trailblazers,
who make our paths straight, 
who carry us through the journey,
who empower us to stand on our own.

Standing on the shoulders of trailblazers, 
I see my children following me.
I wonder how I blazed the trail for them.

I would be the happiest man 
if I could say at the end of the journey:
Be ye followers of me, 
as I have been of my trailblazers.
