“Be Faithful with Little,” painted by YoungEun Joyce Kang
The other day I found it hard to focus on nearby objects. Presbyopia was knocking on my door. As I celebrated my 45th birthday, I took some time to reflect on who I am now and who I want to be on that day when I stand before God.

First, I want to be a person who is “all in.” Anything I do, I want to do with all my heart. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Col 3:23).

Second, I want to be a person who is “congruent.” I want to live with deep contentment, harmony, joy, and confidence in my experience of everyday life with God (Phil 4:12). I want to live a life of congruence – congruence between ends and means, congruence between inside and outside, congruence between preaching and living.

Third, I want to be a person who is “making much of Christ.” I want to live a fruitful life in terms of my character and ministry. I want to bear the fruit of the Spirit in my personal life. I also want to make disciples of Christ through all of life – whether I eat or drink, or whatever I do (1 Cor 10:31).

I want to be faithful with little as long as I live. So on that day, I want to hear the Master say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” This is my one desire.
