Insecurity. Corruption. Famine.

Where do I see hope?

Abraham saw his one and only son, believed his offspring would be as many as stars, and rejoiced.

Rahab saw God-sent messengers, welcomed them, and was saved.

Elijah saw a little cloud no bigger than a person's hand, sent his servant, and shared the good news about much-needed rain.

War. Illness. Inflation.

Where do I see hope?

I see hope in the sun that rises so faithfully each morning and drives out darkness.

I see hope in a child who says "I forgive you" when her dad did wrong.

I see hope in two children sharing their bread with one another.

Tonight I lie down in hope, knowing that God prepares a table while I am sleeping.

And there is evening, and there is morning - a new day.
